Whether it's a slow drip you've been ignoring or a section of shingles the wind just took, Roof Repair Smedway sends licensed Roofing technicians throughout Wise, VA to look at it properly, not guess over the phone.
Before Roof Repair Smedway was a name on a truck, our foremen were already up on ladders across Wise, VA, figuring out which shingle brands actually hold their seal through a rough season and which ones just look good in a showroom.
Ask to see our Wise, VA license and insurance certificate and you'll have it in your hand before the estimate even starts.
A roof repair that's "close enough" tends to fail again within a year, usually during the exact storm it was supposed to handle. We don't build that way.
Documentation on request, no exceptions.
A midnight call gets the same urgency as a noon call.
You approve a number before the crew touches your roof.
We already know Wise's weather patterns and permit process.
Catching a roof problem at the "annoying" stage is almost always cheaper than catching it at the "emergency" stage.
Homeowners in Wise often mention they'd noticed something off months before calling — a stain that seemed to fade, a shingle that looked slightly out of place after a storm.
If the water coming off your downspouts looks gritty, the shingle surface is thinner than it should be.
A cupped shingle traps moisture instead of shedding it, which speeds up decking rot underneath.
Daylight visible through the attic roof boards means water has the same path in.
Sagging or soft drywall usually points to sustained moisture, not a single isolated drip.
An unexplained bill increase is worth checking against your roof's condition.
Exposed underlayment is only a temporary barrier — it's not built to handle sustained exposure.
We split our work into specific service lanes because a wind-lifted shingle and a full system replacement need completely different crews and timelines.
Below is the full breakdown of what we cover in Wise, so you can see roughly where your situation fits before you even call.
Active leaks get priority dispatch — a temporary cover first, a proper repair as soon as the crew can get materials on-site.
Every homeowner gets walked through material options before a decision is made, not after.
Commercial roofs run different membrane systems entirely, and our crews are trained specifically on TPO, EPDM, and modified bitumen.
Material selection is part of the replacement conversation, matched to your climate exposure and budget.
Post-storm inspections give homeowners documented evidence, useful whether or not a claim gets filed.
If your roof has an architectural quirk, we scope it personally rather than forcing a standard fix.
Homeowners tell us the not-knowing is often worse than the repair itself, so we try to remove as much guesswork from the process as we can.
A dispatcher logs your address, roof type, and the problem, then schedules based on urgency.
You get a plain-language explanation, not just a number.
Every figure is documented in writing — nothing verbal, nothing vague.
Warranty paperwork is handed over the same day the job wraps.
We could list a dozen more reasons to work with us, but these six are the ones Wise homeowners mention most often when they leave a review.
Being local means we're rarely the crew still driving in from somewhere else.
Every estimate is itemized so you know exactly what you're paying for.
Crews carry moisture meters and proper fall protection on every job site.
Every job includes a written labor warranty separate from the shingle manufacturer's coverage.
We're not your insurance company, but we make that part of the process easier.
If a repair solves the problem, that's what we recommend — we don't push a replacement to inflate the invoice.
Our guarantee covers our labor specifically: if the completed work doesn't match the agreed scope, we correct it at no extra cost.
We also guarantee the number on your estimate — barring a scope change you approve first, that's the number on your invoice.
None of this is a marketing line — it's how every Wise job actually gets closed out, warranty paperwork included.
We stage crews across Wise, VA so a storm hitting one part of the region doesn't leave the rest of Wise waiting.
Because our crews already know Wise's layout, we rarely lose time to a wrong-turn delay that out-of-area companies deal with constantly.
Homeowners just outside Wise proper sometimes assume they're too far for a standard visit, but our dispatch radius usually reaches further than people expect.
